Two hair products I can't live without.

When it comes to hair products I tend to keep it quite simple, shampoo its whatever takes my fancy while i'm shopping and beyond that It doesn't get very interesting. There are two products I repurchase, one of them is a new repurchase as it last that long, the other? I don't even want to think about how many bottles of this I've gone through! 

First up is Wella Oil Reflections. When it comes to hair oils I haven't actually tried many but this one leaves my hair feeling silky soft, it also smells amazing. I remember everyone going through the Moroccan oil phase, something I never really caught on to but this? I love it it leaves my hair smelling amazing smooth. 

Revlon Uniq One all in one Hair Treatment. This here is a miracle in a bottle and while others have come and gone claiming this about various other products this here is the real deal. It claims to have 10 effects but which ones are true and which ones need removing from the bottle? 

1. Repair for dry and damaged hair: True. I went a few weeks without this to put it too the test and see if I really did need it. Do I? absolutely. My hair became frazzled easily and looked so dry and unhealthy. 

2. Shine & Frizz controll: Agree, my hair is left super shiny and frizz free. I used to struggle a lot with static, since this? No more. 

3. Heat Protection: This one is a little iffy, I actually haven't yet put it too the test, I still always spray in my usual heat protection! 

4. Silkiness & Smoothness: Yes! My hair is left feeling so soft and smooth after I use this, this kind of ties in with the answer for the frizz control one. 

5. Hair Colour Protection (no answer for the other part on this one as I wouldn't know): In all honesty this one is a little iffy, I'd imagine this would apply more for someone with darker hair. That and the fact my job means I have to wash my hair daily which sends it from blonde to yellow very very quickly (cue fudge violet toned shampoo for that one). 

6. Easier Brushing & Ironing: Yes yes yes! the best thing about this product. Brushing my hair when it's wet? Awful, just awful. Remember when you were a child and didn't want anyone to come near your hair once its had been washed? Well if you did or not that child was and is still me. Brushing my hair is literally like a hot knife through butter. This one is possibly the biggest reason I repurchase this product. The ironing? Agreed. Sometimes my hair seems too stick to my straighteners on the way down leaving me with almost crimp marks (unattractive) but not with this! 

7. Incredible Detangling: Little bit too similar too the easier brushing revlon... sneaky. Yet it is true.

8. Long Lasting Hairstyle: Sadly no, I can't agree with this one... Unless holding my hair flar as a pancake counts? (It naturally lacks volume) . 

9.Split Ends Prevention: Mmm, could be this, could be the heat protection... who knows?

10. Adds Body: No, sadly not. But like I said, my hair is very flat and limp! 

I can't imagine I've made my miracle spray sound so good there, bu I've just been honest, the good things about it amazing but not all of those 10 effects ring true. I love the fact it makes my hair so silky soft and easy too brush when it's wet. Even my tangle teaser struggles to get through that mane without this! 

I actually buy both of these from my hairdressers salon but you can but them online at beauty bay. I but the coconut scent of the spray (which is like a holiday in a bottle) but there is also the original scent it came in which is also lovely. Mac Plink! - One you need in your collection.

The latest addition to my Mac Lipstick collection (which is currently still small - I can feel more additions coming soon). I recently picked this up when I went to Liverpool, which is amazing for shopping by the way! I have so many 'nudes' in my collection but I felt a natural pinky nude was lacking. This was the one I actually picked up first and swatched on my hand and then put it back thinking it was too light and had too much sparkle to it for me and I carried on looking. A couple more swatches in and one of the counter girls must have seen the confusion on my face and stepped in. I told her what i was looking for (a natural pinky nude) - she whipped round the display and had 3 for me to try. I really like that the Mac girls seem so happy to help you, they really encourage you to try on the products to see what you think, they even give their honest opinion too which I like. Don't get me wrong I know they want a sale at the end of the day but if your at a beauty counter are you really 'just browsing'? She tried 3 on me and I didn't even bother looking at the names of them at all (1&2) I liked, 3 not so much... I went for the 2nd one she tried in the end and low and behold it was the very first shade I swatched... Plink!

I was shocked, I really liked it and I bought it immediately. I really happy with this one. Now i'm not going to describe it as a 'your lips but better' shade but it does enhance the natural colour of your lips. I prefer this one on days when i'm not wearing much make up or if I want more of a focus on my eye make up. The only warning I have is that you need to be light handed with your application, don't press too hard as it is a cool toned lipstick and you don't want to blank out those lips! Don't let that put you off though, it's not one of those concealer lips shades, it's just more of a frosty pink.

Plink! is from the Mac Lustre range. I'll be honest the lasting power isn't the best but I can deal with the for the fact that I like the shade too much.

The 2015 Beauty Wishlist

2014 I have discovered some amazing products, some real gems but here while everyone else is talking about what their favourites of the year were i thought I'd do a round up of what I'm hoping to add to my collection come 2015.

1. Nars Velvet matte Lip Pencil in Damned
I was eyeing up these last time I ventured into Space NK but for some reason I put them down... Probably because I opted for one of the new Audacious lipsticks instead however; I can't stop looking at them and after hearing Anna mention about this one in a vlog (I can't remember which vlog) I had to look up the shade and well that was it! 2. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
This one has been on my list for a while now, and I just can't shake that 'I need this' feeling why? I don't know I always bail when I get near a counter but not next time... 2015 this is happening! You can buy Luminous Silk from Selfridges, Debenhams and Harvey Nichols

3. Burberry Fresh Glow Fluid Foundation
A few bloggers did the rounds on this one a while back now and I've wanted it ever since, the only problem? There are literally no counters near me where I can go and get a colour match! Anything with the name 'fresh glow' has got to be good right? The claim is ''The lightweight, moisturizing formula gives skin a fresh, youthful glow and floats on the skin for a comfortable, no make-up sensation'' after reading this as soon as I get myself close to counter, i'm in! You can buy Burberry's Fresh Glow Fluid Foundation from Boots and John Lewis (if your braver than me and can colour match yourself online! 

4. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Pallete
I had my eyes on this since before it's release day, I was all ready to order it but life happened and I had bills to pay which meant this very beautiful product stayed on the wishlist waiting for a day to be added to that little online basket of mine. I only own one of the hourglass ambient lighting blush's (luminous flush) and I love it and it's left me wanting more. I've seen mixed reviews of the hourglass blush's but so far from my own experiences I've seen good things! you can buy this beautiful trio from Space NK 

5. Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush
I wasn't overly fussed by this, I've seen it do the rounds (you know the drill) but I wasn't drawn in, this was until I went to a Bobbi Brown counter recently for a colour match and walked out transformed! The secret? This very brush, I couldn't believe it, the application was flawless but yet not cakey it was so effortless and now it's not a matter of want, it's need. 6. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Love Liberty 
I've been really getting into red lips recently, after so long of not going near reds I can't get enough of them and this one from Charlotte Tilbury is next on my list! So far all the Charlotte Tilbury products I have have gone above and beyond expectations and lets face it, the packaging on this makes it hard not to want it! you can buy this (and the rest of Charlotte's amazing range) from Charlotte Tilbury

7. Viseart Eyeshadow Pallete in Basic 01
I saw Lily mention this in a blog and a little more research later I found this video by Karima, I can't resist it any longer! the packaging is basic but that array of matte shades a range of warm to cool tones, I can't wait to add this one to my collection. I'm definitely more of a matte toned shadow girl unless its an occasion (in which case I'm all over Urban Decays Half Baked). You can buy this from Guru Makeup Emporium

The Lipstick That Just Doesn't Suit Me...

Ahh the YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in 13 Peach Passion; such a  beautiful shade of pink isn't it? I first saw Milly wearing this beautiful shade and I knew I had to have it, on her it looked perfect... I had to have it.

I got it, I couldn't wait to try it and as soon as I did?... Bitter disappointment. It looked beautiful on Milly and I've since seen it on Zoe (aka Zoella) and it looked gorgeous on her too, but me? No. Now this isn't an entirely negative post trust me, the formula to these lipsticks is just amazing, so hydrating, moisturising and creamy. The colour is so pigmented and lets face it YSL know exactly how to do packaging. it looks simply gorgeous. Sadly this colour just doesn't suit me, it doesn't go with my skin tone,., even when I have a tan! I wish it did suit me, I've tried numerous times but this just isn't my shade *crys a little* I can't explain it other than it looks like I've smeared strawberry ice cream on my lips... it's just not right. Has it put me off? No way, in-fact I'm dying to try Number 5, Fuchsia in Excess (a pretty bright but deep purpley/pink). Sadly this one lays in my collection longing for a day to be loved! But until then its beautiful to look at.

Real Techniques Duo Fiber Brush Set

There's no secret Real Techniques are an affordable brand, the brushes are amazing quality and this little set did not disappoint.  I picked these up only around a week a go, but trust me a week is enough to know that In love them!

This brush set is different to the usual Real techniques brushes, the bristles are much softer and they make it impossible to pick up too much product, which is brilliant for those just starting out or I guess even those of us who can't quite grasp the difference between lightly powder to set and looking like you've applied 'talc' to your face.

The set includes a powder brush, a contour brush and a blending brush. My favourite of the set? it's got to be the powder brush. It just allows you to deposit the right amount of powder to your face, having said that it's the same for all of the brush's but the powder brush just... it's just good, really good! I was so impressed with every brush in this set, they're just beautiful, I also love the sleek black design of these however the writing on them is still colour  coded the same as the usual yellow/orange, pink and purple. I highly recommend this set and they'd also make a lovely gift for fellow make up lovers.

Nars sheer glow aka my favourite foundation

When it comes to foundation it's just got to be right, its the base for everything else and there's no room for error. That's where Nars Sheer Glow comes in! I'm fairly picky with foundations, but if your going to be spending £30+ then its got to be right.

I don't think Nars could release a product that I didn't like, they just seem to get it right every time and Sheer Glow is no exception to that. It's a dream to apply, it buffs effortlessly into the skin and leaves you with a beautiful even finish. The coverage is more medium to full but it's build-able, it doesn't look cakey in any way. It fits it's name Sheer Glow, it really does add a healthy glow to your skin and makes you look more radiant and awake.

Colour-wise for me I like it that much I know what I am with a tan and my natural skin tone, Fiji is my everyday shade and Punjab for for the summer months or whilst on holiday... I'm currently out of fiji and I need to place another order, stat! I think if there was one issue I had with this it's the 'pump' issue. I'm sure you've seen this one over and over but seriously why doesn't it come with a pump as standard? those things are never in stock either so it's the battle with not getting too much on the back of your hands for now! That aside I love love love love it and i'm certain there will always be a bottle in my stash!

Luminous Flush from Hourglass

I'm sure you've all seen numerous reviews on the ambient lighting blush's but here's one more to throw into the mix! I received this beautiful blusher for my birthday and I've reached for it everyday since! It's the perfect pinky shade to add a glow to your skin and brighten up the rest of your face. This blusher it super pigmented, you really don't need to be heavy handed at all ( I made that mistake the first time I used it... oops) I've seen a lot of people saying that hourglass products barely show up but first time I used this, there was a little too much on my cheeks!

Packaging wise, its simple but elegant. I must say I was expecting it to be heavier, its very light due to the fact its just a gold coloured plastic I guess, I thought it would be more sturdy feeling but nevertheless it looks lovely. I 'd love to try another of the ambient lighting blushes, possibly dim infusion?

Meet Jeanne from the Nars Audacious Range

So this here is Jeanne a beautiful deep red from the Nars audacious lipstick range *stares at how beautiful it is* I picked this lipstick up a couple of weeks ago now and I must say, I'm loving using it! I'm never usually daring enough to go for a bright lip but after a little bit of a chat with the lady on the Nars counter and her trying this shade out on me, I caved.  Jeanne is a cherry red but with depth, me and bright bright reds don't mix. These lipsticks are really moisturising and I haven't found this to cling to any dry patches I may have at all and the formula  is really creamy however it drys with a matte feel to it. As for lasting power again, brilliant I did have to top up but I don't end up with a red smear on my face half way though the day. The packaging of these lipsticks is fab, I mean it's magnetic, whats not to love!? I really want to try more from this collection.
