Negativity in the Blogging World

Tuesday, 2 December 2014

Hello everyone, this is possibly the worst time to put up a post, I know, but this post is going to be a little different to my prior posts and something I thought everyone could benefit from...

Recently there seems to have been some negativity surrounding the blogging world, the main being; jealousy and nasty comments. It upset me so much to see people so openly (excuse me using this word) but dissing other bloggers and also vloggers because nobody deserves that. The internet is not always a wonderful place, you can see that from some of the comments that were witnessed but it can also be an amazing thing and something that has helped ordinary people like me and you open up their own world and share it with everyone who wants to listen, read and take note. Now my following is not as great as some peoples and i haven't exactly been blogging for long, but I like to think that those few of you who do read my posts enjoy them (I really hope so) however there are some bloggers and vloggers who have thousands maybe even millions of subscribers. These people started off just the same as every other blogger, a small following but something about them has gripped many people all over the world and their hobby has become their career... now isn't that just amazing? I'm so proud of several bloggers who I have followed since when I was still at school, many of them their blogs were and are still growing and to see them now with their own beauty ranges, books and much more is fantastic and I honestly couldn't be more happy for them. Why you might ask? Because these people didn't set out looking for fame, these people are just the same as me or you. The only reason they are where they are now is because of us, we followed them, we read their posts and watched their vlogs. Not a single one of these people started their blog thinking that they could get free products, that the could be famous or have their own brand, but this has happened for them and we shouldn't be jealous.

Jealousy is a natural emotion, it's something that we all feel from one time to another but we cannot let this emotion grip us and turn us bitter to those who don't deserve it. We shouldn't be jealous of the success these people have had, we should be proud and we should aspire to one day have done something as wonderful as those people have. We should stop ourselves from thinking negative thoughts and always try to look on the positive side (i'm a glass half full kinda girl). Without these people I wouldn't have even known how to apply foundation without looking like an umpa loompa, or that there really is a red lipstick for everyone. They have helped me and made me grow as a person and they are also helping thousands of others grow too.

Now i'm not saying you can like everyone, and i'm not trying to persuade you, I just want to try and make you all think, words are a weapon and if used in a certain way they can hurt people more than you could ever imagine and once you've made a bad comment, no matter how much you apologise you can never take those words back. I think the picture I've added to this post really does speak a thousand words (I have referenced where I got this image). Mean Girls is a film that so many of us have seen, probably more than once and aside from being a brilliant film it teaches you without you even realising it... like a comment made in the film, making a bad comment about someone else won't make you any better (not an exact quote I know, but you get the jist). Saying bad things about other bloggers won't make your blog any better, it won't take away their book deals, their brands or the PR items they receive.  As long as you put as much into your blog as you can then thats all that matters. Don't be upset someone else is more successful, be proud that they made success from a common interest and be happy that you too have your own corner on the Internet which you can call your own!

I know this has been a slightly wordy post and I do hope I haven't offended anyone with it, the intention was to make you all think before you make a comment...

Massive love to everyone who reads this post, I appreciate each and every one of you!
